Functionality of Rankings

University rankings serve to evaluate the quality of research and science at universities as well as the development of the faculty. While some rankings develop lists with single ranking positions, other rankings simply group universities into different levels.

CHE – University Ranking 2014/15

The CHE- University Ranking 2014/15 ranks WHU top tier in all of the five main categories: Top results were achieved regarding the study situation in general, the possibility to finish studies in time, the academic feasibility of the courses, international orientation, and research funds. Moreover, the students that were surveyed for the ranking highlighted the outstanding practical relevance of course content, the career service, the modern and cutting-edge equipment, and the close interaction between faculty and students. The survey covered more than 300 universities and business schools in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland andmore than 7,500 academic programs.


Universum Student Survey

WHU received an award for Employability and Career Opportunities based on the Universum Student Survey 2014. In all fields, WHU was considerably above average and received top marks in the fields of school reputation, business contacts, study abroad opportunities, internationalization of the school, career service, and access to service facilities by students.


WirtschaftsWoche Recruiter's University Ranking 2014

In the annual „Recruiter’s University Ranking 2014” published by the German weekly WirtschaftsWoche, WHU ranked fourth in the field of business administration among all German universities, improving its position from fifth place the previous year. WHU ranks first place among all German private business schools. More than 500 human resource managers participated in the survey and rated graduates from private business schools significantly better than graduates from public universities in terms of demeanor, international experience, duration of studies, and foreign languages.


Trendence Graduate Barometer 2014

On the 2014 trendence Graduate Barometer, WHU received top-level grades in two out of nine categories. In six categories, WHU received the second-best grade of “good”. Students were especially impressed with the Career Center, with the support received from professors and WHU employees, with student initiatives, and with the interactions between the university and the business world. In 2014, a total of 32,019 students from 257 universities participated in the trendence Graduate Barometer.


Financial Times Master in Management Ranking 2014

WHU participated for the fourth time in the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking. The School’s MSc in Management program was ranked fourth worldwide, fourth in Europe, and considered the best in Germany. According to the Financial Times, WHU is top for Aims achieved (ranked 3rd) and Value for money (ranked 5th). Regarding “placement success”, WHU’s career service achieved the best rank worldwide for its top performance.
