Vallendar, Koblenz and the surrounding area

Vallendar is located in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a 65km stretch of the 1,230km international Rhine River. With its castles, historic towns, towering vineyards, and steep slopes, this section of the river is a UNESCO world heritage site. Major cities are dotted along the banks, and Koblenz marks the meeting of the Rhine and Mosel rivers. Perfectly placed, Vallendar and its surrounding area is never short of things to do and see.

Vallendar

Vallendar and Koblenz have easy rail & road connections, making both day and weekend trips easy to organize. Visit the major nearby cities Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Frankfurt, or take a trip down the Mosel to discover pretty towns and villages dotted along the banks.

Koblenz

The nearest city to Vallendar, Koblenz is the third biggest city in Rheinland-Palatinate, and is situated on the banks of the both the Rhine and the Mosel rivers. The Deutsches Eck is a must-see, and the riverside location lends itself to a number of scenic walks, bars, and cafés.

Sports and Free Time

Enjoy extensive scenic walks and cycle routes in the surrounding Stadtwald, Westerwald, and Hunsrück hills, take a river cruise, or relax at the nearby outdoor swimming pools and spas. Students at WHU can also take part in courses offered by the University of Koblenz sports program.
