The Internationale Controller Verein eV (ICV) or International Controller Association has approx. 6,500 members who are performing practical controlling in small, medium-sized and large companies. The association was founded in 1975 and provides a meeting platform for controllers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and 12 other European countries. Its aims are to popularize the philosophy and use of controlling, promote an exchange of experiences and enable members to increase professional qualifications. It acts as a representative body and serves as a model of managerial and operational competence represented by members of the association in relations with the public. The exchange of experiences and communication among the members as well as focusing on future-oriented issues constitute essential objectives of the association's strategy. The chairman of the ICV is Siegfried Gänßlen, CFO of Hansgrohe SE, Schiltach (Germany). The assistant chairman is Professor Heimo Losblichler, Steyr University of Applied Sciences (Austria).
A good example of the close cooperation between the Institute and the ICV is Professor Jürgen Weber's position as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Professor Utz Schäffer's membership on the same board. The ICV and IMC also work together on content issues, especially in the area of empirical research, such as on the WHU Controller Panel.
