WHU Medal of Honor awarded to Rainer Heydenreich
On August 30, 2011, Prof. Michael Frenkel, Dean at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, awarded the WHU Medal of Honor to Rainer Heydenreich. The awarding took place during the graduation ceremony for the WHU/Bucerius Law School “Master of Law and Business Program”.
On March 30,2011, the WHU senate decided to honor Heydenreich, Vice Chairman UBS AG, Germany, for his exceptional commitment concerning the MLB-program. During his laudation, Prof. Frenkel mentioned the outstanding dedication Heydenreich showed, to develop the program. “In addition to financial donations, Heydenreich emphasized his ties to both universities through his great personal commitment, and went far beyond expectations in championing the program and its students,” Prof. Frenkel said. “Heydenreich always exercised this honorary office for the good of the program and invested time and money quite naturally.” Besides the personal commitment Heydenreich, arranged some very interesting guest-lectures of the UBS board as well as numerous events for students and alumni of the program.
During the commencement ceremony, the 50 international students of the “Master of Law and Business “ program (MLB) celebrated their graduation in Hamburg. Offered since 2006, the MLB program of WHU and the Bucerius Law School incorporates content from law and economics. An intercultural General Studies program (Studium Generale) is a compulsory part of education. As part of the program, participants also completed an eight-week internship.
