How is the 15-month fulltime MBA program structured?
The MBA program is divided into the following modules:
Core Courses (4,5 months)
Concentrations (7 months) incl. International Modules (1 week each)
Master Thesis (3 to 4 months)

When does the program start?
The program starts at the beginning of April every year (slight changes possible).
Does the program have international aspects?
Yes, three international modules of one week each are included in the Concentrations module. Currently we cooperate with partner universities in the US (KELLOGG, Chicago), in China (CEIBS, Shanghai) and in India (IIMB, Bangalore). The international modules are tailor-made and taught by senior faculty of the hosting partner universities.
International guest lecturers and executives of successful international companies are regular visitors to our MBA program.
How many students are in one class?
The MBA classes have a maximum number of 40 participants.

Is the MBA program at WHU accredited?
Yes, the program is accredited by FIBAA (Premium), EQUIS and AACSB.
What is the language of instruction?
All courses in the MBA program as well as in the international modules are taught in English. No German language skills are required but German classes are offered to those students who want to study German during their MBA studies.

What are the application requirements?
- A first degree (Bachelor or equivalent)
- Two years minimum postgraduate work experience
- A completed online application form

- Official transcripts from all colleges, universities and professional schools attended.
- One letter of recommendation from a professor or supervisor (a standard form is available on our website)

Do I need a GMAT or TOEFL test to get admission?
Yes, both tests are required. The GMAT is mandatory; the TOEFL test can be waived after the personal interviews but is sometimes required for visa purposes. For more information have a look at the application requirements.
What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is January 15 every year. For international students requiring a study visa to Germany, the deadline is already on December 15 of the previous year.
What are the tuition fees of the program?
The total fee for the 15-month fulltime MBA program is € 36,000. This fee includes all tuition, all books and materials, accommodation and full board during the international modules, soft skill seminars as well as career services. Accommodation in Düsseldorf, airfares and travel expenses are not included.
The fee is payable in three parts: a non-refundable payment of € 5,000 upon acceptance, a first installment of € 15,500 at the start of the program in April and a second installment of € 15,500 in January of the following year.
What financing options do I have?
Scholarships: A small number of partial MBA scholarships are available, particularly for those groups under-represented in the program and who can demonstrate the value they would bring to the group. For more information please click here.

Student Loans: Our local saving bank (Sparkasse) grants loans to national WHU students; international students on request.
Does WHU offer a career service?
Yes, the career service department organizes recruiting events for more than 60 companies on campus every year. Company presentations, career days, career markets and informal dinner conversations all contribute to successful networking.
A Online Resume Database with the resumes of our graduating MBA students is published every year and is made available to more than 130 selected international companies. Companies then contact candidates whom they would like to meet.
How much should I calculate for living costs in Düsseldorf?
Living costs are approximately € 750,- per month, housing included.
May I visit WHU and the MBA office?
Yes, of course! You are welcome to schedule an individual appointment for a campus visit. This personal visit gives you the chance to attend an MBA lecture (if compatible with our schedule), meet our current MBA students, go on an accompanied campus tour and have a personal study advisory with our MBA-Team.
