As a result of rapid economic development, “Controlling” is becoming a more and more important topic in China. This prompted Prof. Utz Schäffer and Prof. Jürgen Weber – joint directors of the Institute of Management Accounting and Control (IMC) at WHU, Germany – to invite controllers, management accountants and CFOs working in China to participate in a panel on controlling and management accounting. The WHU Controller Panel China is supported by the International Controller Association (ICV), the German Chamber of Commerce in China (AHK) and Tongji University, Shanghai, and brings together both practitioners and academics.

The panel is designed to deliver new insights into the practice of controlling and management accounting and at the same time to provide the participants with useful benchmarks. Participation in the panel is free of charge. Members are asked to respond to a survey on a regular basis, which should take no more than about 20 minutes. In return, participants gain exclusive access to the professional analysis reports, which provide useful suggestions for improving controlling and management accounting practices. Of course, the surveys are evaluated anonymously and all data is handled in strictest confidence. It will not be possible to identify either the participants or the companies they represent.

WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management is one of Germany’s most renowned business schools. Its “Controlling” related activities in research, teaching and the transfer of scientific knowledge to practice are bundled in the Institute of Management Accounting and Control (IMC). The IMC also operates the Controller Panel D-A-CH, which is the largest panel for controllers/management accountants in the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland - D-A-CH for short).
