Chair of Business Information Science and Information Management
Welcome to the Chair of Business Information Science and Information Management of Professor Dr. Thomas Fischer. The Chair conducts teaching in Business and Management Information Systems within the WHU educational programs. In research, the Chair is dealing with current issues of information management and business information systems engineering. Research activities concentrate on design and management of information technology for cross-sectoral value-added networks. Particular focus is on knowledge and innovation management. Assistant Professor Dr. Sven-V. Rehm is concerned with issues arising in the design and interaction of information systems and the networked organization.
A high practical relevance is established through close cooperation with the Center for Management Research of the German Institutes for Textile and Fibre Research (DITF Denkendorf, one of the largest institutions of joint industrial research in Germany). Professor Dr. Thomas Fischer and his staff are coordinating and involved in research projects on European and national levels.
The Chair of Business Information Science and Information Management is supported by the Irmgard and Erich Schneider Foundation. The photo of Mrs. and Mr. Schneider† is showing the married couple in the year 2001. Mrs. and Mr. Schneider's work and commitment had been always been socially motivated. Their heritage is now continued by their son Peter Schneider who has become a member of the Foundation’s Board in 2012.
