Program Description

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must fulfill the criteria to be enrolled in the doctoral program of WHU. Unless financed by other sources, they can expect to receive full funding by scholarships. In their first year, students attend an intensive set of core courses covering different theories and methods as well as philosophy of science. In addition, students select electives depending on their research specialization. The courses provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage in their own research. During the thesis-writing phase, students benefit from a strong interaction with their dissertation committee and other faculty members. Students also meet internationally renowned scholars who are invited to present their research projects in our WHU research seminars and doctoral colloquiums held at WHU. In addition, students are encouraged to spend a semester at a university abroad during their studies. Opportunities for such mobility are manifold due to the faculty’s large network of researchers and business schools around the world.
