The annual meeting place for the academic management accounting family.
The Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR) is organized by the Institute of Management Accounting and Control and normally takes place at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany.
In 2021, the conference will be held online.
Hosted by Professor Marko Reimer, Professor Utz Schäffer, and Professor Jürgen Weber, ACMAR is an annual meeting place for the academic management accounting family. It offers a unique opportunity for presenting research in management accounting and finding out what colleagues in the field of are doing. In addition, ACMAR provides a friendly and sociable context to keep in touch with colleagues from across Europe and beyond.
Submit a paper:
We invite you to present your research at one of the parallel sessions of the conference. Research papers dealing with all aspects of management accounting will be considered for presentation.

Submission deadline is December 2, 2020
An author can submit and present only one paper. However a presenter can also be a non-presenting co-author on additional papers.
Authors are invited to submit full papers. The deadline for the submission of papers is December 2, 2020, 23:59 GMT.
A full paper is a complete scholarly research report that could reasonably be submitted for publication in a public working paper data base such as SSRN.
Papers will be evaluated by independent peer review.
Confirmation of acceptance or rejection will be given before or on December 16, 2020 and mailed to the corresponding address of the presenting author (unless another author is selected as a contact person).
The presenters of an accepted paper must register as a participant for the conference before February 1, 2021. When registering, please indicate the topic and methodology of the paper.
By submitting a paper, the authors thereby agree to their paper being made available in the restricted access area of the conference website.
Please take into account that once a paper is included in the program, the author should present it at the conference or officially notify the organizers of its withdrawal.

Agenda of the 18th Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research
We are looking forward to the 18th Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR) in March 2021.
While the current pandemic developments don't allow us to host you on campus, we are more convinced than ever that scholarly exchange and dialogue need to continue throughout the crisis. Therefore, the 18th Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR) will take place as an online event in the first week of March 2021, i.e. between March 1st and March 5th, and we are happy to welcome Professor Eva Labro (University of North Carolina Kenan Flagler Business School), and Professor Michael Power (London School of Economics and Political Science) as keynote speakers.
Participants will have the opportunity to present their own research projects in different formats:
• Parallel Sessions with Discussant where selected papers will be presented and discussed by a discussant,
• Round Table Sessions for later stage, competitive papers, and
• Development Round Table Sessions for rather early stage papers.
The 10th ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium will be conducted in parallel from March 1-3, 2021. Doctoral students are invited to apply for the colloquium, which provides the opportunity to discuss doctoral research projects with the colloquium´s faculty members Eva Labro, Michael Power, and Utz Schäffer.
10th ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium 2021
In 2021, the tenth colloquium for doctoral students in management accounting will be held online in conjunction with the Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR). The colloquium will take place on March 1 - 3, 2021.
The colloquium’s objective is to provide an opportunity for doctoral students in management accounting from various countries to discuss their research projects and work in progress with the colloquium´s faculty members Eva Labro, Michael Power, and Utz Schäffer.
Submission deadline for the ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium is December 2, 2020. The participation is free of charge.

Established in 2002, the Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research, started out as an annual meeting place for the German-speaking community in management accounting research.
