The Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR) is organized by the Institute of Management Accounting and Control and takes place at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany.
Hosted by Professor Marko Reimer and Professor Utz Schäffer, ACMAR is an annual meeting place for the academic management accounting family. It offers a unique opportunity for presenting research in management accounting and finding out what colleagues in the field are doing. In addition, ACMAR provides a friendly and sociable context to keep in touch with colleagues from across Europe and beyond.
Submit a paper:
We invite you to present your research at one of the parallel sessions of the conference. Research papers dealing with all aspects of management accounting will be considered for presentation.
Full papers should be submitted by email to acmar(at)whu.edu
Submission deadline was December 2, 2021
An author can submit and present only one paper. However, a presenter can also be a non-presenting co-author on additional papers.
Authors are invited to submit full papers. The deadline for the submission of papers is December 2, 2021, 23:59 GMT.
A full paper is a complete scholarly research report that could reasonably be submitted for publication in a public working paper data base such as SSRN.
Papers will be evaluated by independent peer review.
Confirmation of acceptance or rejection will be given before or on December 16, 2021, and mailed to the corresponding address of the presenting author (unless another author is selected as a contact person).
The presenters of an accepted paper must register as a participant for the conference before February 2, 2022. When registering, please indicate the topic and methodology of the paper.
By submitting a paper, the authors thereby agree to their paper being made available in the restricted access area of the conference website.
Please take into account that once a paper is included in the program, the author should present it at the conference or officially notify the organizers of its withdrawal.

Agenda of the 19th Annual Conference
for Management Accounting Research
We are looking forward to the 19th Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR) in March 2022.
The ACMAR provides a platform for participants to discuss current research trends, share recent findings on management accounting practices, and foster interaction between researchers in the community. We are pleased to welcome Theresa Libby (University of Central Florida College of Business),Martin Messner (University of Innsbruck),and Adam Pradela (Deutsche Post DHL Group) as keynote speakers to the conference. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to present their own research projects in parallel sessions and roundtables.
As in previous years, the ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium will take place on March 2 - 3, 2022, prior to the ACMAR.

11th ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium 2022
In 2022, the eleventh colloquium for doctoral students in management accounting will be held in conjunction with the Annual Conference for Management Accounting Research (ACMAR). The colloquium will take place on March 2 - 3, 2022.
The colloquium’s objective is to provide an opportunity for doctoral students in management accounting from various countries to discuss their research projects and work in progress with the colloquium´s faculty members.
Submission deadline for the ACMAR Doctoral Colloquium was December 2, 2021.
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
CIMA’s global academic is designed to promote and develop the science of management accountancy as stipulated in our Royal charter. The programme encourages researchers to explore issues and provide fresh topics of interest to CIMA members and the accountancy profession more broadly.
Regulations and Hygiene concept
To maximize the safety of all of us, the ACMAR 2022 will be held as a 2G Plus event. This means that only those who have an EU certificate of immunization (vaccinated or who have recovered from a Covid-19 infection) are allowed to participate in the conference. In addition, you are required to get tested for Covid-19 every day throughout the event. The good news: The WHU test center is conveniently located on our Vallendar campus and only 50 meters from the conference venue. In addition, our conference will follow the strict hygienic regulations communicated by the state Rhineland-Palatinate and WHU, which include disinfections, airing the rooms, wearing masks throughout the event etc.
