Household Finance beschäftigt sich mit den Finanzentscheidungen von Individuen. Investieren Haushalte am Aktienmarkt und profitieren sie somit von der Aktienrisikoprämie? Halten Privatanleger ausreichend diversifizierte Portfolios? Handeln Privatanleger zu viel, zu wenig oder genau richtig? Unterscheidet sich das Investitionsverhalten von Frauen und Männern? Leider treffen Individuen manchmal Finanzentscheidungen, die ihrem Wohlstand schaden. Deshalb beschäftigt sich Household Finance auch mit möglichen Ansätzen, diese Entscheidungen zu verbessern. Wie wirkt sich Finanzberatung auf Privatanleger aus? Können neue Regulierungen die Situation von Haushalten verbessern? Welchen Effekt haben technische Innovationen (FinTech) auf die Finanzentscheidungen von Individuen? Household Finance ist somit gleichermaßen relevant für Forscher, politische Entscheidungsträger, Finanzdienstleister und die breitere Bevölkerung. Der Lehrstuhl für Household Finance widmet sich in Forschung und Lehre diesen Themen.
