Diverse new class begins their Master Program on campus

WHU’s Campus is springing back to life with the return of the students for the start of the new academic year.

As the first hints of fall are starting to arrive in Vallendar, Germany, WHU’s Campus is springing back to life with the return of the students for the start of the new academic year. The 2018 fall term at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management officially began this week with the arrival of the incoming Master students for their Welcome Week.

This fall, 179 students began their studies across the three Master Programs, with 114 students joining the Master in Management Program, 48 students beginning the Master in Finance Program, and 17 students starting in the Master in Entrepreneurship Program.

The Welcome Week traditionally marks the first highlight at the beginning of the academic year, as it provides the incoming students with the knowledge needed to successfully start their studies as well as get to know each other.In the official welcome session on Monday, August 27, WHU Dean Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf cordially welcomed the new students, after which Professor Dr. Jürgen Weigand, Deputy Dean and Associate Dean Academic Programs, Academic Director Master in Management and Master in Finance Professor Dr. B. Burcin Yurtoglu, and Academic Director Master in Entrepreneurship Professor Dr. Christoph Hienerth introduced themselves.

In addition to the official program, the Welcome Week offered the new Master students a variety of informal activities, such as a visit to the Kletterwald Sayn. This was the first team building event, designed to give the new students the opportunity to get to know each other and the surrounding area of ​​Vallendar, as well as facing new challenges together as a group.

Throughout the week, the students also gained insights into the three different Master programs. In addition, current students introduced the numerous student initiatives to the incoming students, whicmake up a significant part of student life at WHU. The Welcome Week was rounded off by the presentation of the WHU Alumni Association In Praxi and an introduction to the WHU network.
