How does board environmental expertise influence corporate environmental performance? And how is that relationship affected by a country’s stakeholder orientation? Jana Oehmichen, Professor of Organization and Management Studies at the University of Groningen, discussed these questions with members of the WHU community during a WHU Research Seminar on October 31. Her current research suggest that board environmental expertise increases the ability of directors to manage stakeholder relations, which in turn leads to superior environmental performance.
