- Chinese pronunciation; learning to read and write the Chinese standard phonetic transcription "pinyin"
- Introducing and practising basic grammatical structures
- Learning Chinese characters and writing exercises
- Developing a basic vocabulary
- Listening and speaking exercises in everyday situations
- Aspects of Chinese culture, mentality and traditions
