Germany Scholarships at WHU

WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management awards scholarships to especially talented and high-achieving students within the framework of the German national scholarship program. In addition to achievement, the evaluation of each applicant’s overall potential includes special accomplishments, awards and prizes, previous professional experience or internships, and extra-curricular activities. Special personal or family circumstances such as, for example, illness, care of family members, single parenting, or a migrant background, are also taken into consideration. The amount of the scholarship is €300 per month, and is initially granted for two semesters.

Criteria for Selection

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Federal law for creation of a national scholarship program (Scholarship Program Act (Stipendienprogramm-Gesetz – StipG)) dated July 21, 2010 (Federal Law Gazette (BGBl) p. 957), amended by the Regulation of December 23, 2014 (BGBl p. 2475),
  • Scholarship Program Regulation (Stipendienprogramm-Verordnung – StipV) of December 20, 2010 (BGBl p. 2197), amended by the Regulation of November 29, 2011 (BGBI. I S. 2450),
  • Statutes of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management for the Grant of Germany Scholarships dated November 30, 2011, amended on April 20, 2016.

According to § 5 of the Statutes, the selection decisions of the Scholarship Selection Committee are based on an evaluation form containing the above-mentioned selection criteria, a copy of which will be sent to applicants together with the call for applications.
