Mark Frese, who holds a degree in economics, was responsible for numerous management positions in finance and strategy at Kaufhof Holding AG and the Metro Group, where he was appointed CFO in 2012. From 2017, he was CFO at Ceconomy AG. Since 2020, Mark Frese has been CFO of Hapag-Lloyd AG, one of the leading liner shipping companies with around 14,000 employees worldwide.
Dr. Rolf Hellermann
Rolf Hellermann is Chief Financial Officer and member of the executive board of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA in Gütersloh. Bertelsmann is a media, services and education company that operates in about 50 countries around the world. The company has 145,000 employees and generated revenues of €18.7 billion in the 2021 financial year. Prior to joining the group executive board, Rolf Hellermann led Arvato Financial Solutions, the financial services business of Bertelsmann, was CFO of the services division Arvato and head of Bertelsmann group controlling. He studied business administration and received his doctorate from WHU in Vallendar.
Nico Hoffmann leads the Digital and Analytics Transformation Program in the finance department of Telekom Deutschland GmbH. In this function, he is responsible for the digitization of the financial organization with a focus on “predictive finance”, “analytics4business”, “automation and process optimization”, “self-service reporting” and “transformation & people development”.
He has a Master of Finance and Management and teaches part-time (e.g. digital transformation).
Alexander Lind is Head of Group Controlling at Merck. Alexander started his career at Merck as trainee in Treasury in 2010.
He has held corporate roles (M&A Controlling, Chief of Staff to CFO) as well as operational roles in Singapore (Operations Controlling Life Science) and Hamburg (CFO Allergy BU). He holds a diploma in business administration from the University of Mannheim, an Executive MBA from INSEAD, and is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA).
Prof. Dr. Utz Schäffer
Utz Schäffer is Director of the Institute of Management and Controlling of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management together with Marko Reimer and Jürgen Weber. His research focuses on the role of the controller and the digital transformation of the finance function.
