"Unicorn Founders" Graduated from WHU

In a recent article published by Business Insider, WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management was listed as one of only 15 international colleges, which educated founders of startups worth at least a billion dollars, so called "unicorn founders". WHU is one of only three European Business Schools, listed alongside with for example Harvard, Stanford and Oxford. 

The five "unicorn founders", who studied at WHU:

Robert Gentz (Zalando SE)

Dominik Richter (HelloFresh)

Felix Jahn (Home24)

Oliver Samwer (Lazada Group)


Entrepreneurship is of high importance at WHU,  apparent in many activities and initiatives:

  • memberships in diverse founding networks
  • 32 lectures with regards to entrepreneurship per year
  • 19 extracurricular events per year
  • 125 start-up plans by WHU students / alumni in 2015
  • 15 foundations in 2015 (of which 1 won Start-up of the Year by
  • successful EXIST-founder scholarship
