Research interest
As an assistant professor in Retail Analytics her research focusses on the retail sector, mainly grocery retailing. Her main interest lies in inventory management, omni-channel retailing and sustainability aspects. She likes to combine Analytics and Operations Research methods with her food technology knowledge to improve the retailer’s business in terms of sustainability, profitability and service towards the customer.
Short biography:
Marjolein Buisman obtained her BSc Food Technology and MSc Food Technology as well as an MSc in Management, Economics and Consumer studies at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. After finishing in 2015, she pursued a Ph.D. in Operations Research, with the focus on reducing food waste at the retailer level at the same university. She obtained the Ph.D. degree in 2019.
