The financial and economic crisis of 2008 with its revealed excesses of misconduct by top executives has sparked an intense and wide-ranging public discussion on social responsibility, ethics and integrity of leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.

The WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management educates students to become responsible leaders. Participants are selected based on this intrinsic potential. Throughout the course of the program these potentials are developed in a systematic way and help to mold managers to become aware and master socially responsible behaviour.

The objective of the Center is to combine the theory and practice of responsible leadership. The Center is, therefore, research-based as well as practice-oriented and provides a platform for interaction between companies and scientists according to topics of leadership, business ethics and entrepreneurship with awareness for social responsibility.
