The Henkel Center for Consumer Goods (HCCG) offers lectures across all academic programs of the WHU in the following areas:

  • Marketing
  • General Management
  • Purchasing
  • Taxation

The lectures of the HCCG do not only feature an introduction to essential theoretical concepts, but also exhibit a strong practice-oriented focus. Students gain valuable insights in the consumer goods industry by guest lectures and real-life case studies. Furthermore, they have the option to combine their thesis with an internship at Henkel.

Numerous top managers of Henkel and other companies offer valuable insights into the world of consumer goods by holding guest lectures throughout all WHU programs.

Overview of guest lectures in 2015

Real-life case studies are, apart from guest lectures, an important part of many lectures of the Henkel Center. Students gain valuable insights into the challenges of multinational firms and current developments in international consumer goods and supply markets. The concepts and solutions which they develop in teams are presented to the supervising top managers.

Case studies in 2015 and 2016

The internship/thesis program with Henkel offers the opportunity to combine a research project with practical experience. The topics which are mutually assessed by WHU professors and mentors at Henkel will be presented  in January.

Truly international work environment

“My experience as a master thesis student at Henkel was nothing short of great. During my first few weeks, I was warmly welcomed into the team and was onboarded quite extensively. Apart from working on many interesting tasks during the last few months, I also received all the necessary support for my master thesis.

I would highly recommend this option to future students as a way of gaining interesting insights and understanding daily operations of a global FMCG company. Moreover, I got the opportunity to be part of a truly international work environment which added to my overall learning experience.”

Exciting Research project

„Writing my Bachelor thesis at Henkel with a combined internship in Purchasing allowed me to directly apply the gathered knowledge from my WHU studies to an international business project. During this time I really enjoyed the support and feedback of both, my Henkel mentor and academic supervisors. Henkel’s people and smooth processes facilitated a really exciting research project. Also I enjoyed being a part of the WHU-Henkel community which included various events and networking opportunities.”
