On February 13th, this year's board meeting of the Center of Market-Oriented Corporate Management (CMM) took place at the WHU in Vallendar. The CMM is a platform of exchange between science and practice with regard to market-oriented problems. At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Fassnacht gave an overview of the latest developments at the University, the CMM and the chair. He informed about the growth of the WHU and the increase of the chair´s teaching activities. The teaching benefits from a variety of valuable guest lectures and real life case studies with companies such as Miele and Toyota.
Subsequently Martin Fassnacht presented this year's marketing committee meeting of the German Academic Association for Business Research and the 5th WHU-Campus for Marketing. At the Campus, guests could look forward to exciting presentations of world-class speakers. In addition to enriching lectures and a panel discussion, the guests where provided with culinary delights and the broadcast of the World Cup match between Germany and USA.
As next item on the agenda, the research topic "Cross Channel Freeriding" was presented by doctoral candidate Markus Szajna. Then Dr. Heiner Olbrich gave a lecture on the topic "Refining the Brand Positioning of Miele" and illustrated the core values of the brand Miele and the strategy for the global positioning of the company. Both topics received great attention of the board members and were discussed extensively. The very productive day ended with a dinner in a pleasant atmosphere.
