Hon. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ringbeck, a renowned expert in transport management and strategic transformation, looks back on an outstanding international consulting career characterized by global leadership responsibilities at Booz Allen Hamilton / Booz&Company and pioneering contributions to the sustainable development of the transport and logistics industry. Since spring 2014, he has been an independent strategic investor, senior advisor and advisory board member for innovative companies and, as President for Industry and Aviation of aireg (https://aireg.de/), is committed to climate-friendly air transport.
He has been a lecturer at WHU since 2012 and was appointed honorary professor at the beginning of 2014. Since 2014, he has taught in various study programs on key topics of corporate management. Specifically in the field of transport and logistics, Hon. Prof. Dr. Ringbeck has been offering the Transportation Management course in the Master of Science program since 2012 and supervises research projects with a focus on strategy and sustainability.
After completing his doctorate at the University of Osnabrück in 1985, he worked as a university assistant and visiting professor at the University of Toronto. His dissertation received the Honorable Mention Award from the Marketing Science Institute and the World University Service Government of Canada Award.
From 1988 to 2014, Hon. Prof. Dr. Ringbeck played a key role in shaping the industry as a management consultant. After a career as a partner at McKinsey & Company, he assumed global leadership responsibility for the travel and logistics sector at Booz Allen Hamilton / Booz&Company in 2001 (from 2008) and was a member of the Global Board of Directors and the Operating Counsil. During this time, he made significant contributions to the strategic transformation of leading transportation and logistics companies worldwide and advised governments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East on the strategic regulation and sustainable development of the sector. For many years, Prof. Dr. Ringbeck has distinguished himself as a respected expert who regularly publishes on management topics in renowned journals and is a sought-after speaker at international conferences. His involvement as Strategic Advisor to the World Economic Forum and the UN WTO (World Tourism Organization) (2002-2014) underlines his global expertise.
