About Professor Pisitta Vongswasdi

Dr. Pisitta Vongswasdi is Professor of Leadership & Society. She obtained a Bachelor (BA)’s degree in Economics from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), and later received a Master of Science (MSc)’s degree in Sociology from University of Oxford (UK). She then worked as a strategy analyst in Bangkok, and returned to the world of research by serving as a research associate in Organizational behavior at INSEAD business school based in Singapore. Before joining WHU, she received a PhD in Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (the Netherlands) in 2020. During her PhD, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business’s Experiential Leadership Development Lab in the US.

Pisitta’s primary research interests include leadership and its development, diversity management, team dynamics, and mindfulness in the workplace. She has published in a number of top-tier academic journals, including Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Learning and Education, and Journal of Organizational Behavior.

At WHU, Pisitta teaches at all levels including undergraduate, Masters, MBA, and Executive Education. She teaches courses on psychology, leadership in practice, leadership development and training, working in diverse teams, and organizational change and influence.

She has worked as a leadership coach for executives and conducted workshops as well as consults with a number of public organizations, and global companies on topics related to leadership development, diversity management, and cultural change. She is part of the League of Leadership — an international consortium of top business schools worldwide with the mission of enhancing quality standards of leadership development. She is currently a member of WHU’s Core Leadership Team (CLT) and serves as an Associate Dean of Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent Development.
