INSEAD-WHU Industrial Excellence Award Europe

About the Award

Since 1995, the Industrial Excellence Award (IEA) competition benchmarks Management Quality for European competitiveness in the industrial and service sectors. This competition focuses on Digital Strategy Formation and Deployment Top-Down & Bottom-up, that is, how organizations align distributed activities and knowledge to achieve common strategic goals. In the past we awarded best practices for Lean Management (1st Edition) and Supply Chain Integration (2nd Edition); more recently the focus has shifted towards Strategy Cascading and Employee Engagement for Operational Excellence (3rd Edition). In the future we expect firms to compete on superior value creation for individual customers or customer segments through Digitally-Enhanced Processes and Data Analytics (4th EDITION) and thus become even more adaptive, agile and aligned.

All European business units (BUs) using industrial techniques for their products or services are encouraged to take part in this survey. The business units must be headquartered in a West European country or Turkey. This can include high-volume production, customized project business or services. The participation is free of charge. Business units with multiple sites should provide an overview of their supply chain or service delivery network, specify the role of each operating unit and report their performance. Lead plants or sites may be followed up by a visit. We recommend that your answers are to the point and rather brief. You may add supporting material in an appendix.

A national champion and a select number of laureates in each country will be chosen by the jury. An overall champion will be selected during a management conference in the Autumn of 2020 and receive the prestigious “Industrial Excellence Award Europe”.

On December 04, 2019 Grifols from Spain was honoured with the Industrial Excellence Award Europe.
