Research interests:
Priscilla S. Kraft is Assistant Professor of Technology and Innovation Management. Her research focuses on the decision-making of CEOs and entrepreneurs and how this affects innovation and entrepreneurial risk-taking behaviors. In one of her recent studies, she analyses the role cognitive biases, such as CEO overconfidence, for technological breakthrough innovation. In addition, she is interested in the role of networks and board social capital for innovation. Her studies are published in leading academic journals in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship, such as the Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and the Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. In 2018, she has received the renowned “Thomas Hustad Best Young Scholar Award”.
Short biography:
Priscilla Kraft received her Ph.D. from the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen in 2019. Her doctoral thesis focused on the role of CEOs for innovation and received the Best Dissertation Award in the area of business studies from the University of Giessen. Prior to joining WHU, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen.
She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Business Administration at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management with distinction. After finishing her studies, she worked for 2 years in the innovation team of the strategy and projects department of Commerzbank.
