Bachelor students receive NVIDIA GPU Grant

WHU students Maximilian Gekle and Lukas Ryll (both BSc 2018) received the NVIDIA GPU Grant for their bachelor’s thesis on the use of Artificial Intelligence in asset management.

WHU students Maximilian Gekle and Lukas Ryll (both BSc 2018) received the NVIDIA GPU Grant for their bachelor’s thesis on the use of Artificial Intelligence in asset management. Their thesis titled “Active vs. Passive Investment Strategies in the Light of Artificial Intelligence” analyzes the applicability of machine learning algorithms to prediction-based trading strategies. Their research was supervised by Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf and Sebastian Seidens at the Allianz Endowed Chair of Finance at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

The NVIDIA GPU Grant is dedicated to empowering exceptional researchers at leading universities worldwide. The grant focuses on cutting-edgetechnological innovation in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and GPU Computing. As part of the grant, Gekle and Ryll received a brand-new GeForce Titan Xp GPU as an unrestricted donation for their research.
