Doctoral Program

Burgenland Seminar 2020

Despite the special situation, members of the Allianz Endowed Chair of Finance from WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and the Chair of Banking and Financial Controlling from the University of Bamberg followed the invitation to the Hotel Nationalpark in Illmitz. This year, for the first time, the seminar for doctoral students took place in analog and digital form via video conferencing and has been a great success.

From July 9 to 11, 2020, Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Professor Dr. Matthias Muck, Professor Dr. Hartmut Leser, Assistant Professor Dr. Sebastian Seidens, Assistant Professor Dr. Michael Herold as well as nine doctoral students from WHU and the University of Bamberg discussed their latest research results. Following the presentations, the students received plenty of constructive feedback and exchanged their research ideas.

After arriving at the Hotel Nationalpark, the seminar started with a dinner at the Restaurant Rosenhof. On the second day, some of the seminar participants presented their research results (see below) and answered the questions of the audience. The colleagues from Bamberg presented their results via video conference. The dinner at "Das Fritz" then formed the end of a successful seminar day. Before starting the return journey on the third day, one part of the group took a cycling tour around the lake “Neusiedler See”, while the other part explored Vienna.
