Christian Hagist was an invited expert at a public hearing of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs on Monday, 6 May 2019 to discuss opposition motions on the subject of old-age poverty. In his opinion, the only conducive proposal is a basic pension. He said that this meets the criteria of viability, fairness and reasonableness, which are commonly used to measure state pension schemes.
