In the recently published SCM Journal List ranking, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management ranks 9th in a global comparison of universities producing empirical supply chain management (SCM) research. This makes WHU the highest-ranked SCM research institution from outside the United States for the seventh year in a row.
The annual university rankings are based on publications during the prior five years, in this case the year range 2016-2020. As such, the annual SCM Journal ListTM is the only ranking of supply chain management programs that ranks programs based on actual research output in top-tier SCM and OM journals.
The SCM Journal ListTM is governed by the SCM Congress, which is composed of scholars from many of the leading supply chain management universities throughout the world and which reviews the journals encompassed within the List every four years.
The Supply Chain Management Group at WHU unites the independent chairs of International Business & Supply Management I (Lutz Kaufmann and Jiachun Lu), International Business & Supply Management II (Felix Reimann), Logistics and Services Management (Carl Marcus Wallenburg), Logistics Management (Stefan Spinler), Operations Management (Liji Shen), Production Management (Arnd Huchzermeier and Marjolein Buisman), and the Mercator Endowed Chair of Demand Management & Sustainable Transport (Arne Strauss).
