At the beginning of June, representatives from the Chair of Leadership at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management took part in the “Work in Progress” conference in Düsseldorf, organized by the leading business newspaper Handelsblatt. For two days, participants looked at the latest developments in the working world from a working professional’s perspective. The event focused on specific topics, including “Job Crafting,” “The New Normal,” and “Hybrid Working. In a variety of workshops and discussion panels, experts offered insights into their daily workflow and reported on new ways of learning, “mosaic” careers (where one does not try to climb the corporate ladder), and organizational changes that allow for a higher tolerance for mistakes.

As the Chair of Leadership at WHU, we frequently attend conferences that focus on research. We have also found that conferences revolving around practical implementation are just as important.  For this reason, we were delighted to exchange ideas with professionals from various organizations and look forward to continuing our efforts in building bridges between science and practice
