Peter Bebersdorf (Director Manufacturing at Fendt/AGCO in Marktoberdorf) and Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier published a book on "Variable Takt: Mit dem VarioTakt Varianz beherrschen bei grenzenloser Produktindividualisierung". In future-oriented production systems, the focus is on customer requirements in terms of product and delivery time as well as a constant workload for employees. Professor Daniel T. Jones (author of best-selling books on lean management, including, 'The Machine That Changed the World' and 'Lean Thinking') says "This book describes an important building block for developing responsive and adaptive systems to meet the challenges of the future." An English version of this book is forthcoming.
In 2017, the Fendt plant was named a Laureate of the Industrial Excellence Award Deutschland competition; in 2021, it was named a Digital Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company. Peter Bebersdorf has a large number of joint and international publications on the subject of variable takt and is currently completing his doctorate at WHU.
