WHU is expanding its long-standing close cooperation with Henkel. In the future, both partners will network even more closely in the area of entrepreneurship. A joint program of the WHU Entrepreneurship Center, Henkel X, the digitization department of Henkel, and Metro AG began in January.
The results were presented at a closing event on March 8 at the company's headquarters in Düsseldorf. In the "Corporate Entrepreneurship" course, which was conducted jointly, WHU Master's students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they had acquired during their studies to practical case studies and to develop new business ideas and models for Henkel and Metro.
"The goal of our new cooperation is to expand the entrepreneurial ecosystem not only in the Düsseldorf region, but also nationwide, and to actively shape and strengthen it," emphasizes Monika Hauck, Managing Director of the WHU Entrepreneurship Center. "A particular focus for us is on strengthening female entrepreneurs. We not only want to encourage women to use their entrepreneurial potential, but also to equip them with the necessary know-how and useful networks".
"This initiative is particularly important to me! We want to work with young entrepreneurs or those who want to become young entrepreneurs to shape Henkel's future and advance our markets. The first joint program in partnership with Metro is ideally suited for this, as we can develop new cooperation opportunities between retailers and manufacturers together with WHU students," said Dr. Rahmyn Kress, Chief Digital Officer at Henkel.
The WHU Entrepreneurship Center focuses on three main areas of activity: Research and education, support and coaching, and the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems. The center offers a neutral platform where all participants can meet and work together to shape the future development of the start-up scene in Germany.
