IMC researchers receive CIMA grant

Research project receives financial funding from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Assistant Professor Lukas Löhlein, IMC Director Professor Utz Schäffer, and their co-author Leona Wiegmann have received a grant from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). CIMA will provide financial support for the joint research project entitled “The interplay of centralized and decentralized forecasting in the digital age”. Together with Leona Wiegmann, former Assistant Professor at the IMC and now lecturer at Monash University, Australia, Lukas and Utz investigate how centralized predictive analytics-based and decentralized bottom-up forecasting practices contribute to managing organizations. To do so, the project continues an existing collaboration with one of the largest software corporations for integrated business solutions worldwide, which is based in Germany.

CIMA, founded in 1919, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants. With its research initiative grant, CIMA wants to support researchers in identifying the future direction, role and form of the finance function.
