The successful textbook "Einführung in das Controlling" (Introduction to Controlling), written by Professor Emeritus Jürgen Weber and Professor Utz Schäffer of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, is now available in the 17th edition in print and as an e-book.
The authors revised many parts of the book, particularly the sections on cost accounting and risk management. Furthermore, they expanded on the implications of digitalization on controlling, concerning aspects such as technological foundations, agile steering concepts, and new controller roles and competencies. Finally, a new closing chapter summarizes the author's perspective of controlling as rationality assurance "in a nutshell."
The textbook is complemented by the 5th edition of the workbook, which features exercises and case studies related to the contents of the textbook. Additional online material is available for both books via the Schäffer-Poeschel Publishing websites.
"Einführung in das Controlling" is the best-selling textbook on controlling in the German market and has been translated into Chinese, Russian, Polish, and (in parts) English. It is aimed at all students pursuing controlling as a basic or advanced course. Consistently practical and theory-based at the same time, it provides the necessary foundation, concepts, and tools that controllers need for their work. Its previous 16th edition was recognized as an outstanding and innovative textbook, being awarded the Best Textbook Award of the German Association of Business Research (VHB).
