Visit to University of Luxemburg’s Center of Logistics and SCM

Ms. Devadrita Nair, Yordan Sölter and Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier present ongoing research

On 02/22/2013 Devadrita Nair, Yordan Sölter, both PhD students at the Chair of Production Management and Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier visited Professor and Director Benny Mantin from the Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Luxembourg to present three ongoing research projects. Devadrita Nair presented her research titled "Predictably Unpredictable: How predictions through judgment and machine learning complement each other." Yordan Sölter's presentation was on "Improving Coupon Promotions - A Study of Minimum Purchase Requirements and Loyalty Points vs. %-Based Discounts" (joint research with Prof. Dr. Christian Schlereth). Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier presented joint work with Professor Volodymyr Babich from Georgetown University on "Behavioral simulation of a blockchain-enabled market for trading supplier capacity among merchants." The team received valuable feedback from all participating LCL faculty and graduate students. The Chair of Production Management looks forward to welcoming doctoral students and professors to the home campus this spring/summer.
