Darya Novik wins CIO Young Talent Award 2021

Receives 12,500€ partial scholarship to WHU and joins Part Time MBA Class of 2023

Darya Novik, Business Analyst for Cloud Services at Siemens Healthineers, has been chosen as the winner of the 2021 CIO Young Talent Award. She told CIO that “Receiving the CIO Young Talent 2021 award and the scholarship for the part-time MBA program at WHU is a great honor for me. I am very grateful for the opportunity to take the next step in my development." For the last ten years, particularly promising young IT talents have been receiving this award from the CIO Foundation and its associated magazine in order to encourage and support young talent within the industry.

The event, in which Novik was chosen from seven finalists after six individual interviews with a jury of experts, took place online – as in 2020 – due to COVID-19. Individuals were judged not only on their professional wherewithal, but also their communication skills. All seven finalists received a partial scholarship of 12,500€ to go towards an MBA at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. WHU Prof. Dr. Martin Fassnacht, Chairholder of Strategy and Marketing at WHU, commented, "As academic director of the WHU MBA programs, I have been impressed by the profiles of the CIO Young Talents for years - but especially by their subsequent achievements in the MBA program as well as their subsequent alumni engagement beyond their studies!"

The official awards will be distributed at the 2021 CIO of the Year Gala on November 25. The application window for the 2022 CIO Young Talent Award will start December 1, 2021.
