WHU receives official recognition of innovative projects

Campus Düsseldorf awarded University Pearl of the Month for commitment to regional initiatives.

The Stifterverband Wissensregion Düsseldorf awarded WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Düsseldorf and its partners with the December University Pearl of the Month. The award honors Düsseldorf universities that are committed to regional projects and initiatives.

In addition to WHU, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Hochschule Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, Fliedner University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, and Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf receive the title of University Pearl of the Month. Together, they pursue the goal of the Association for the Promotion of the Wissensregion Düsseldorf e.V., to pass on the knowledge generated in Düsseldorf to initiatives from the region, to promote them and to provide a network for them.

With their first project "The Innovation Semester," the association's members want to encourage students and trainees to work together on interdisciplinary topics. In the exchange of ideas, the teams develop entrepreneurial solutions for education, society, and business.

What is a university pearl? - University pearls are innovative, exemplary projects that are implemented in a university. Because they are small, they are hardly registered beyond the university walls. But because they shine, they can and should also adorn other universities. Every month, the Stifterverband presents a university pearl. Once a year, a vote is taken to select the university pearl of the year from the monthly pearls.
