In its 2019 Ranking of Economists, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung selects economists with the greatest influence on public life in German-speaking countries. This year, for the third time in a row, WHU Professor Dr. Martin Fassnacht is one of them. He took 66th place.
The Ranking of Economists of the FAZ has been published annually since 2013 and records the performance of economists from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland under the aspects of research, media, political consulting, and social media. According to the FAZ, economic researchers must have made a lasting impression on both research and the public to be ranked at all.
Professor Dr. Martin Fassnacht heads the Chair of Marketing and Commerce at WHU in Düsseldorf and was not only extremely active in research in the investigated period between July 2018 and June 2019, but was also constantly available to the media with his expertise on current marketing and trade issues. In the "Media" category, the ranking takes into account entries in F.A.Z., F.A.S., Welt, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Tageszeitung, Bild, Handelsblatt, Capital, Manager Magazin, Wirtschaftswoche, Die Zeit, Focus, Spiegel, Welt am Sonntag, Bild am Sonntag, Tagesschau.de, n-tv.de, and Businessinsider.de.
