At the invitation of Klaus Straub, CIO of BMW and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the CIO Foundation, the annual workshop of the CIO Foundation took place on September 16-17, 2019. Around 40 CIOs, friends, sponsors and scholarship holders of the foundation took part in the workshop at the BMW Group IT Centre, which this year focused on the tension between digitisation and strategy development. Impulse lectures and World Café sessions provided the framework for discussion and exchange between the participants. Since 2011, the CIO Foundation has been supporting young IT talents from user companies with scholarships for the Part-time MBA and Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA Program at WHU. In addition, it ideally supports the CIO Leadership Excellence Program of DXC, IDG Media and WHU Executive Education.
Dr. Peter Kreutter, Director of the WHU Foundation and member of the Board of Trustees of the CIO Foundation, thanked Klaus Straub and his team at BMW for inviting and organizing the workshop: "Especially in times of digitalization, trusting, personal exchange across industry and company boundaries is becoming increasingly important. In this respect, we as WHU Foundation are always very grateful when friends and sponsors take the initiative, open their doors and host the corresponding common formats!"
