On June 16, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management will be one of the many institutions—from universities to computer clubs to museums—around the country partaking in Germany’s Digitaltag 2023 [Digital Day], a day of action started by the Digital für alle (DFA) group. WHU will open its doors to the public and the WHU community to showcase the results of its latest forays into the world of virtual reality and augmented reality. Guest are invited to jump in and figure out the best ways of utilizing such modern advancements in digitalization. They will have an opportunity to try out the equipment themselves, practicing their public speaking skills in a virtual simulated environment, and going on a virtualized tour of the school’s Goethezimmer, an antique meeting room that has been recreated in the 3D digital space for this purpose. The school’s in-house experts will be pleased to answer questions and discuss cutting edge AR and VR technology with their audience.
“Digitalization – Discover. Understand. Create.” That is the motto of the DFA’s Digitaltag 2023, organized as an effort to narrow the gap between those with beginner skillsets and those with years of technological experience under their belt. The DFA, a coalition comprising over 25 different organizations working to ensure that residents and citizens of Germany understand and are involved in the country’s technological progress, has noted that it is not always a given that every person has the digital skills necessary to live and work comfortably in today’s modern society. It is their mission to entice people from all walks of life to join in on the fun and learn more about how technology can make a difference in their homes and in their careers. Perhaps most importantly, the events scheduled for Digitaltag 2023 are designed to give the public a way to participate in shaping the future of new technology.
Residents of the Koblenz and Vallendar area as well as members of the WHU community are invited to join the event on June 16 between 11:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. Please register for the free event at
