Launched two years ago, e-mobility is now a constant companion of the students and staff of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and the citizens of Vallendar. The e-Carsharing Vallendar and the BMW i3, which has found its place in Heerstraße in front of the business school's K-building, is a convenient alternative for students who may not have their own car with them. Above all, it is a clean way of driving because the charging station, which was set up especially for this purpose by Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm), is fed 100 percent from green electricity. The i3 is capable of covering distances of up to 350 kilometers.
E-Carsharing is also a real alternative with regard to more environment-friendly, social, and sustainable mobility in the Middle Rhine Valley. Due to the current high availability, the e-car can often even be booked at short notice. Only the distance that has actually been travelled is paid for: a user fee of five euros per hour plus a small mileage allowance.
WHU has started the project in 2018 in collaboration with its partners of Sparkasse Koblenz, BDH-Klinik Vallendar, Gewerbeverein Vallendar, Stadt Vallendar, Autovermietung KM, and evm. Now all these parties once again raised awareness for this great offering. Anyone who wishes to book the electric car can register via Drive-Carsharing or the Flinkster App of Deutsche Bahn and receive all the necessary information at myWHU.
