First Best Thesis Award for MBA Programs Only

The award recognizes topics of high relevance to both business and society

This year, a novelty took place at the In Praxi Outstanding Thesis Award ceremony: For the first time, the alumni organization hosted the event separately, only for the MBA programs of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. This year’s winner was Mychal Augustine (Full-Time MBA 2021), whose thesis concerned the “Analysis of the environmental and economic aspects of plastic recycling technologies for the circular economy.” The large number of outstanding submissions was a surprise for the judges and In Praxi, as only graduates of the full-time and part-time MBA programs and the EMBA program were considered.

Regularly, the Best Thesis Awards winners receive their award at their graduation ceremony. However, since the event had to be postponed, the award was presented online in advance. Since their inception, the purpose of the In Praxi Outstanding Thesis Awards has been to recognize theses that examine topics of high relevance and practical impact to both business and society. The awards also honor academic excellence at WHU and aim to increase the visibility of the school’s social impact beyond the WHU community.
