Lions Club Vallendar WHU Donates 1,000 Euros to Zoo Neuwied

Charity and a big heart for animals

The members of the Lions Club Vallendar WHU proved their concern for animals by donating 1,000 euros to the Neuwied Zoo. Zoo director Mirko Thiel and management consultant Hans-Dieter Neuer, who accepted the donation from Bachelor students Celine Leitzbach and Alexander Volkov, expressed their pleasure and gratitude.

The Lions Club Vallendar WHU, which consists of students, doctoral students and staff of WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, had raised the sum partly from membership fees, partly through certain activities in and around Vallendar. For example, the club traditionally takes part in the annual St. Martin's procession in Vallendar, selling sausages to the participants.

In addition to collecting donations, the Lions Club Vallendar WHU also tries to contribute to community life through various welfare activities. These include reading books to the inhabitants of nursing homes or offering application trainings for students at Realschule Plus.
