New Professor of Household Finance

Tenure committee appoints Nic Schaub

On July 1, 2021, Nic Schaub will become Professor of Household Finance at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He previously held a position as Assistant Professor of Finance at WHU. The promotion follows an extensive evaluation of Nic Schaub’s research and teaching activities by a tenure committee.

Nic Schaub completed his doctoral degree in Finance at the University of Mannheim between 2010 and 2014. During his doctoral studies, he was also as a visiting researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then worked as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of St. Gallen until 2019, when he was appointed as an assistant professor at WHU. Nic Schaub’s research interests are in household finance, behavioral finance, and asset pricing. His research appeared in leading international journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Review of Finance, and Management Science. At WHU, he currently teaches the courses "Financial Valuation" and "Asset Management" in the Bachelor program.
