300 euros per month for one year or more – at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, 17 students are currently benefiting from the financial support of the Germany Scholarship. Each of these students stand out for their inventiveness, aptitude, and willingness to take on responsibility. The Germany Scholarship encourages students to achieve excellence through skill, curiosity, and the right education.
Fifty percent of the scholarship is derived from public funds, while the other half is provided by corporate partners and private sponsors. The latter also offer non-material support, for example, giving scholarship recipients the chance to learn from their own experiences through frequent exchanges. The 2020/2021 sponsors include private individuals as well as companies, foundations, associations, and WHU alumni. Confluentes e.V. – Die studentische Unternehmensberatung an der WHU, Zonta Club Koblenz I, and the Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz-Stiftung are among them.
Around 150 WHU students apply for the Germany Scholarship each year. As the number of private donors continues to grow, so too can the number of scholarships provided. A new video (in German) presents interesting facts about the scholarship, shows interviews with scholarship holders and illustrates to potential donors the advantages a collaboration with the Germany Scholarship at WHU would provide.
The Germany Scholarship is one of many ways of financing one’s studies at WHU. In addition to the (partial) waiver of tuition fees and various other funding opportunities, the reverse generation contract has proven its particular worth in recent years. Anyone who qualifies for a course of study at WHU can take part in this program, fortifying the university's credo that funding should not be an obstacle when it comes to promoting young talent.
