WHU Achieves Top Marks in U-Multirank for 2022

WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management has once again achieved excellent marks in the U-Multirank, a school assessment initiated by the European Commission. This year’s results show that WHU has continued to perform well and receive the highest marks (an “A” grade) in 16 categories, including “bachelor graduate rate,” “gender balance,” the “international academic staff” quota, and “student mobility.”

WHU proved to be particularly strong in its areas of focus, including “teaching and learning,” “international orientation,” and “research.” The school also performed rather well in two newer categories: “digital education investment” and “pedagogically skilled teaching staff.”

Now issuing its ninth edition, the U-Multirank this year observed 2,202 higher education facilities from 96 different countries and based its results on surveys, bibliometric data, and patent data. There is no overall ranking. Instead, the schools surveyed strive to achieve a positive result specific categories relevant to their own goals. The schools are divided into groups and given a grade from “A” (very good) to “E” (weak) in more than 30 categories. The purpose of this ranking is to allow for a detailed and specialized comparison between educational institutions.

“The fact that we could make such an improvement that we now have sixteen ‘A’s compared to our previous thirteen makes us all very proud. To our faculty, that we have brought our grades in ‘citation rate’ and ‘most cited publications’ from a ‘B’ to an ‘A’ is rather gratifying,” said Professor Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU, summarizing the results.
