As of this year, the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at car producer Volkswagen is Dr. Arno Antlitz. He returned to VW in April, following the Supervisory Board's decision. At the end of June, he eventually took over the position from his predecessor Frank Witter. Antlitz had previously looked after the finances of the Audi Group and is chairman of the supervisory board of Volkswagen Financial Services AG.
Arno Antlitz gained his doctoral degree at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He received his doctorate in 1999 under the supervision of professors Jürgen Weber and Horst Carus, graduating summa cum laude (1.0).
Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, congratulated Antlitz on social media, saying, "I can't imagine a more strategic thinking CFO focused on long term success and fast in thinking." Arno Antlitz will not face an easy task at Volkswagen. He will be in charge of financing the most severe transformation in the company’s history: the complete switch from combustion engine cars to electric vehicles.
