For the third time now, the Institute of Family Business and Mittelstand at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, together with the Landesfrauenrat [Women’s Council] of Rhineland-Palatinate, will commend female managers, founders, and successors who work at small and mid-sized enterprises with a series of awards. Representatives from all industries in Germany are eligible to apply.
Erfolgreiche Frauen im Mittelstand [Successful Women at SMEs] is a competition created to recognize female entrepreneurs and professionals active at companies with anywhere between 50 and 100 employees. The ideal candidate has made a considerable contribution to sustainable corporate management or the promotion of work-life balance or has successfully handled a corporate succession process. The goal? To showcase these women, their incredible achievements, and their contributions to the success of their companies.
WHU is not merely one of the award’s co-initiators. The school will also be represented on the jury, with Professor Nadine Kammerlander, Chairholder at the Chair of Family Business and Director of the Institute of Family Business and Mittelstand, one of the judges. And like the school as a whole, Professor Kammerlander is dedicated to encouraging educated women to assume leadership positions. According to the results of her research, gender-diverse management teams are better for corporate success than are wholly unisex ones.
