WHU Euromasters 2022 Fascinate Hundreds of Spectators

Students from WHU and European business schools celebrate first WHU Euromasters without COVID-19 restrictions since 2019

True to the motto "Endless Spirit," this year's WHU Euromasters attracted more than 1500 students from 15 different European universities. In the vicinity of Vallendar, they competed in a variety of sporting competitions between November 4 and 6, 2022.

The WHU Euromasters, annually organized by dedicated students from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, is considered the most prominent European sports event for business schools. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the event, sports enthusiasts from 15 universities across Europe set off to make their way towards the CGM Arena in Koblenz to compete in the various disciplines. In the basketball tournament, the hosts from WHU were triumphant, while the Free University of Bolzano won in volleyball, the team from EBS University of Business and Law claimed the soccer competition for themselves, and the team from Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen came in first in cheerleading. In addition to the awards for the athletic performance of the business schools, the "Spirit Award" was given to the university which stood out particularly through its cohesion and team spirit at the event. This year, Maastricht University was honored with this trophy.

In addition to the numerous sports highlights, Euromasters impressed once more with its spectacular after-parties. On Friday evening the motto was "Rave into a new dimension" and on Saturday evening the "Valler Open 2022" took place on the grounds of the Mendig Airfield Industrial Park.

In addition to sports and festivities, students could also engage in their career planning. Numerous sponsors did not miss the opportunity to exchange ideas with the young talents and discuss opportunities for collaboration during the offered speed dating sessions.

Since 1997, WHU Euromasters has been organized by numerous committed WHU students who facilitated fair competition and exchange between European business schools. This year's event was noteworthy in two regards: on the one hand, it was the 25th anniversary of the event, and on the other hand, it was the first Euromasters without Covid restrictions since the beginning of the pandemic. The corresponding joy among the participants contributed to an outstanding atmosphere during this year's Euromasters.
