adidas Guest Lecture by Daniel Mende

On Monday, October 4, we were glad to welcome Daniel Mende, Head of Tax at adidas. He gave a presentation on the future of taxation and introduced the functioning of the tax department of a multinational company. At the beginning of his presentation, Daniel Mende provided insights into the design and objectives of the tax function at adidas. He then addressed various international challenges in the field of corporate taxation, such as the OECD BEPS 2.0 initiative, the digitalization of the tax compliance function, and the US tax reform, each of which will result in a need for action by multinational companies. The very interactive design of the guest lecture contributed to an open exchange on current tax policy issues.
